HOLY COMMUNION SHOULD BE A FORETASTE OF HEAVEN

Liturgical Colour:

What does the feast of Corpus Christi mean to you?  It tells me just one thing – how Jesus must love us.  Who is Jesus?  He is the Second Person of the Blessed Trinity – God.  He reigns supreme in Heaven with His Father and the Holy Spirit and yet at the same time it is His ardent wish to live with us and be the food of our souls in Holy Communion.  Have we fully realised that truth?  That God wants to live with sinful us.

THE DIVINE LAW OF INCREASE

Liturgical Colour:

Lk. 9:11-17

With five barley loaves and two fish, Jesus and His disciples fed over 5000 people. After everyone's hunger had been satisfied, the leftovers filled 12 baskets. This means that what they had at the end was more than they had at the beginning. How can that remarkable increase be explained? In terms of logic and reason, it cannot. But there are two things for us to learn from this miracle.

“I HAVE LONGED TO HAVE THIS MEAL WITH YOU.”

Mk. 14:12-16, 22-26

A man asked 'What do Catholics believe about the Holy Eucharist?' The priest replied, 'It looks like bread, tastes like bread, feels like bread. But once the priest, holding the wafer of bread between his fingers and thumbs at Mass, says over it, “This is my Body” we believe that the Risen Lord’s Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity is truly present.
